SARA MIELE
The ocean, it’s creatures, plants, and music have been the primary inspirations in Sara’s artwork and life. Glass seems to illustrate the fluidity of water and life. The addition of light and painted clay additives gives her pieces a feeling of morphing or combining of ocean creatures and plants.
Sara’s artwork is a collision of mediums that strives to harness the transparency and constant motion of life. Sara’s seeks to mimic the layers found in nature’s elements through the mediums of glass, metal, clay, and paint. This fluidity is evident through the light caressing a textured surface, or a vine cascading down a tree, or the constant wavering of the ocean that is so inviting. Sara loves the shifting optics, potential danger, and the energizing, ever-exciting clash between surf and sand. When light and water come together, the reflection, refraction, and penetration of light rays sparks great inspiration in her.
Sara’s intent is to inspire people. Excitement and hope are provoked in her when she can marvel at the adaptability displayed by a seedpod that sheds its seeds to the winds in order to regenerate, or a jellyfish filtering through oil-tainted water. Problem solving is very satisfying; it makes her feel like an adaptable creature. Transformation takes hope and a will to problem solve, otherwise extinction could be the result. Just like the seedlings and the ocean’s inhabitants, it is also her responsibility to problem solve in order to adapt. This makes her feel intertwined with the natural world.

Wonders such as the swirling texture of beached driftwood, the unbelievable leafy sea dragon, the mystery of a sand dollar, the palmate structure of sea coral, the banded strata of the earth, the muted tones of a desert landscape, the swords of an agave, the solitary silhouette of the saguaro, the delicate understructure of a meadow mushroom, the velvety moss covered pillow of a creek side boulder, the exotic colors of tropical flowers, the mesmerizing hypnotic shadows of a rain forest canopy and a purple- orange stormy sunset she draws from.

MICHAEL SHEWMAKER
Michael Shewmaker, the contemporary sculptor of today, works in stainless steel, aluminum and bronze and even concrete. As a child, his love for sculpture began after seeing the Gateway Arch go up in St Louis, Missouri. He went on to appreciate and study American sculptor Alexander Calder. As a result, in his youth, Shewmaker decided to study metalsmithing at Southern Illinois University. Working with his hands became a lifelong passion. This and his love of art led him to pursue sculpture on a serious basis.
Shewmaker’s mirror-polished stainless steel sculptures are most captivating. Although decidedly abstract, his works have a definite feel of the living with a muscular structure and vivacious energy. The polished surfaces reflect the character of their surroundings and provide a liquid and mercurial appearance. Many of his masterpieces can be seen throughout the United States. For example, the Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs purchased Exe for a permanent installation in their community. The Simpsonville Art Foundation of Simpsonville, SC. purchased Brace for their village. Leviatano was obtained by the Annmarie Sculpture Garden of Dowell, MD for their permanent collection. . Vita (Shewmaker’s most popular design) is on long term loan to Grounds for Sculpture, the huge sculpture garden in New Jersey.
Michael received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Southern Illinois University and did Art History graduate work at the University of Florida and San Diego State University. Mr. Shewmaker currently lives and works from his studio on the Big Island in Hawaii, he is vigorously building a 3 acre sculpture garden of his work there.
DICK MARCONI
Dick Marconi has been innovating and leaving his mark in many endeavors throughout his life. Although creating art is one of his greatest passions, Marconi is also widely recognized as a noted philanthropist, for his Marconi Automotive Museum and Foundation for Kids and for having built a business empire.
Born in Gary, Indiana in the 1930s just before the pre-war steel boom of World War II, Marconi was twelve years-old when he became blinded in both eyes as a result of a chemical accident. Slowly over time, he began to regain some vision in his right eye. The result was black and white and devoid of color and depth. Through sheer determination and visual concentration, Marconi was able to retrain his brain and soon saw immense color - more vibrant than he ever remembered. In the 1990’s, after many years of experimenting, Marconi began to create abstract forms using mixed media and found objects. These rapid and expressive non-objective paintings have obscured the typical figure-ground composition, laying the groundwork for his signature painting technique, “Color Fusion”.
RANDI SOLIN
Randi F. Solin has been committed to the art of blowing glass for over 30 years, dazzling collectors and colleagues alike with her exceptional technique, skill, and highly inventive coloration style. The recipient of many Best in Show, Best of Glass, and, most recently, a Lifetime Achievement award, her work has been acquired by the permanent collections of The White House, The United States Embassies in Algeria, Guinea, Cape Verde, Paraguay, Guatemala, Benin, and many museums and galleries nationwide. Solin incorporates techniques found in both Venetian glassblowing and the American Art Glass Movement. However, atypical to the art of blown glass, she takes a two-dimensional approach to her work, assigning her pieces a “front,” and creating color compositions, working much like a painter to a canvas. Solin’s coloration process is complex and varied, using layer upon layer of glass in all particles sizes, and often incorporating sheets of fine silver foil, or a hand “drawing” in black glass cane. The optics of Solin’s work, with their cut and polished top, is her signature of sorts and an important component of her work. “My optics serve as the window into my coloration process; into the ‘soul’ of a piece, allowing the viewer to peer into its interior life, like the rings of a tree. All of my pieces are intellectually created on that notion, that with each finished work a history is revealed.” Solin earned a B.F.A. from the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University, New York, and estabished her first glass studios in Nothern California.

GEORGEANA IRELAND
Haunting beauty is what Georgeana is after- with a good punch of emotion. Georgeana loves thick paint, the way it moves and melds- using brushes and pallet knives she ‘knits’ colors together almost like a tapestry. Although she works with oils, pigments, mica, metallic leaf and other diverse media, it is color that is her favorite muse. Georgeana loves to see color dance across the canvas. Art is something that bubbles from inside her - she is driven to create. Sometimes it comes effortlessly as it flows from her fingertips and other times it is like a fight with her against the canvas and paint. On those days she looks like a warrior with paint all over face, arms and her studio. Her style is organic, ever-changing and influenced by the times we are in—but always there is a thread of beauty with echoes of the past.

ERIN O’DONNELL
Originally from Seattle, O’Donnell is a 24-year-old artist whose practice started at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, using her work as both a reflection of the chaos of the zeitgeist and an escape mechanism from it. During the isolation of quarantine, she found freedom in the flexibility of abstraction and took refuge in the peaceful state of mind she enters when she’s painting. Her large-scale work juxtaposes traditional western painting techniques with Eastern Sumi-e techniques, reflecting her heritage and having a foot in Chinese, Japanese, and American culture. The striking vibrancy of oil and impasto combined with the layered fluidity of drawing inks and gold leaf acrylic creates a unique contrast that makes her pieces so breathtaking.
